Danny visits the museum and when he gets to the dinosaur display a real dinosaur pops out and asks Danny to play with him. The other children get to ride the dinosaur too. Except, of course, from children. The story has a simple plot, a boy who find a dinosaur that comes to life in a museum and spends the day playing with the boy. He thinks that the dinosaurs are not real.
Much of Happy Birthday, Danny and the Dinosaur! None of the people got their chance to see the lions, the elephants, the monkeys, the sea lions, the giraffes, nor hippos. At the end of the story, all the other children, return home at sunset with Danny and the dinosaur waving goodbye. Although Danny and the dinosaur try to see the zoo animals, they get themselves thrown out of the zoo by a zoo man because the people are distracted and see Danny and the dinosaur rather than the zoo animals. Then, Danny and the children all play with the dinosaur for the rest of the day.

Then he says he thinks it would be nice to play with one. His friend gets caught in clotheslines. Generations after Danny and the Dinosaur's debut, kids still adored Danny and his Jurassic friend.
The dinosaur says goodbye to Danny. Nearly four decades passed between the release of Danny and the Dinosaur in and its first sequel, Happy Birthday, Danny and the Dinosaur!
At the end of the story, all the other children, return home at sunset with Danny and the dinosaur waving goodbye. No matter how many times I read them, I look forward to the next time. This story, by Syd Hoff, was not a favorite of mine among all of the childrens literature that I have read so far.
Syd Hoff is one of those comic geniuses who never received enough accolades for his work during his working career.
